Meet the Team
Sonia Blizzard – Managing Director
Sonia has a degree in Mandarin Chinese from Brasenose College, Oxford. She began her career in retail before moving into the telecoms industry, joining what is now BT Global Services, eventually leaving to set up her own company. Sonia is the founder and managing director of Beaming.
Steve Ross – Technical Director
Steve spent thirteen years with BT in a variety of senior technical and management positions. He has also spent three years with Silicon Valley start up companies developing VoIP hardware. Steve currently designs, evaluates and deploys cutting edge solutions as well as being responsible for all things technical.
Stuart Old – Account Director
Stuart joined Beaming in the early days having previously worked in the public sector for several years. He has been instrumental in the growth of the business and looks after our key accounts. Stuart also provides support to our reseller and wholesale partners.
Marcus Canavan – Technical Specialist
Marcus had a variety of jobs before joining Beaming in 2006. Marcus’ main roles include configuring, installing and supporting routers, networks, and other technical equipment but he also enjoys his contact with customers. Marcus has been known to accompany Sonia to career days at local schools to talk about what he does.
Tom Harper – Technical Support
Tom joined Beaming in 2009 as a member of the technical support team after completing a degree in Computer Technology and Networking. He spends his time problem solving and helping clients. Since joining Beaming, Tom has expanded his technical knowledge, is becoming familiar with Cisco routers and is really enjoying the practical side of his work.
Steve Smith – Technical Support
Steve studied an IT practitioner course at Bexhill College, as well as Business Studies at A level and Economics at AS. He later worked on an IT helpdesk for the NHS. In his technical support role, Steve now enjoys helping users solve their problems and the team atmosphere at Beaming.
Matt Owen – Apprentice
Matt is our apprentice, working alongside Marcus. He studied an IT practitioner course and A level Business Studies at Bexhill College, subsequently working in customer-facing jobs. Matt has had an interest in IT & networking for many years and is often told that he was born with a game controller in his hands. He enjoys the challenges he faces and loves that every day is different.
